Jan. 7th  ‘Divine Inspiration’ Daily Devotional by Dr Albert Odulele

Bible Reading:     1 Kg. 3:16-28

Dan. 2:28 ‘but there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, were these’

One of the ways God’s wisdom manifests itself is through divine inspiration. This is when a thought, idea, concept or solution to a problem comes to your heart and mind supernaturally. It’s not an intellectual conclusion but a spiritual infusion.

Many have missed out on the wonders of wisdom by neglecting inspiration. Paul said ‘to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be’ Rom. 8:6-7.

Divine wisdom comes to those whose minds are spiritual. A spiritual mind is one filled with the Word of God and one that constantly meditates on the Scriptures. Inspiration comes to those who are receptive and allow the Spirit to give ‘Word-answers’ to simple or complex problems.

Solomon was blessed in this way:

He spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs were one thousand and five. Also he spoke of trees, from the cedar tree of Lebanon even to the hyssop that springs out of the wall; he spoke also of animals, of birds, of creeping things, and of fish. And men of all nations, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom, came to hear the wisdom of Solomon’ 1 Kg. 4:32-34

Start now. Keep a diary of inspired counsel; that’s God’s wisdom. Write down and action what he tells you about your home, marriage, children, finances, health, career, ministry, etc. Commence a glorious journey today.

Prayer:

  1. Repent of all neglected inspiration and start afresh. Submit and surrender to His inner counsel / inspiration. 1 Jn. 1:9
  2. Pray for the government of your nation. Ask for God to rule the decisions and choices of politicians and national leaders

Thought for the day:

One inspired poem, book, statement or decision can change your life forever.
