Jan. 25th ‘A Conquest Mentality’ Daily Devotional by Dr Albert Odulele
Bible Reading:     Rev. 12:7, 17; Eph. 3:10

1 Pt. 4:12 ‘beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you’

Redemption does not give exemption from battles; salvation does not excuse from contention. The bible says ‘yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us’ Rom. 8:37. You are ordained by God to fight and win and be victorious and a conqueror.

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith’ 1 Jn. 5:4

Christianity is not experimental but experiential and existential. Develop a conquest mentality. Eph. 3:10 declares ‘to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places.

God’s wisdom puts a person in charge of demons and gives rule over evil spirits. Every battle of life is a wisdom battle and ‘though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh’ 2 Cor. 10:3.

Invest maximally to get wisdom. The pursuit of wisdom is the principal pursuit of life (Prov. 4:7) and the primary conquest key. Christianity and Christians lack splendour when wisdom is lacking. All this ‘said David, the Lord made me understand in writing, by His hand upon me, all the works of these plans’ 1 Chr. 28:19

Prayer:

  1. Pray that God will give you insight to see yourself for who you really are. 10:34-35
  2. Pray for a global awakening of the church to the Great Commission. 16:15-18

Thought for the day:
You are divinely engineered to conquer the battles of life.
