Feb. 27th Dedicated Living I
Bible Reading: Mk. 10:28-30; Gal. 2:20; Heb. 12:1-2
Rom. 12:1 ‘I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.’ Amp
We have examined the subject of ‘faith’ all month. One platform to mention for prevailing faith is genuine dedication to God. Anyone wholly dedicated to God will maximize the force of faith and do exploits. Mat. 26:40
Dedication is the common denominator of all persons in the hall of faith in Hebrews chapter eleven. That’s why Abraham was willing to sacrifice Isaac; Enoch pleased God; Noah built an Ark and Moses chose to suffer affliction rather than enjoy the pleasures of sin.
Dedicated living makes God’s promises come alive. Pastor Charles was diagnosed with severe bronchitis as a child and was constantly in hospital. He then told God, at 13, to own his life and dedicated himself to God and not sickness. From that day he’s never been to hospital for bronchitis; dedication makes faith come alive.
Dedication is ‘seeding your life’ to God. It’s planting ones life in the soil of God’s kingdom. It hinges on the principle of John 12:24 _ ‘most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain’
Set your feet on a most profitable path. No measure of prayer and fasting can substitute dedication. Plant you life in dedication to God and maximize life, become profitable and wield this master key to faith. Become fruitful and walk in His glory. Tell the Lord today you surrender your life to Him and Him alone.
Prayer:
i. Surrender your life to God afresh. Rev. 3:20; Rom. 12:1
ii. Follow Christ and be a fisher of men. Mat. 4:19
Thought of the Day:
Consider that God is searching for dedicated vessels
