August 22nd Renew Your Mind II ‘Observation’
Bible Reading: Gen. 13:14-15; Eph. 1:17-22

Mat. 14:30-31 ‘but when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, Lord, save me! And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt?’
The second principle for mind renewal is ‘observation’. What you see, focus on and pay attention to registers in your mind and conditions your thoughts. Peter walked on water but then ‘saw the boisterous wind’. You can’t see wind but he certainly focused on its obvious effects. This took his thoughts off of Jesus’ word ‘come’ and immediately his successful walk on water ended.
Jonah 2:8 ‘those who regard worthless idols forsake their own mercy’
Focus on the word and the vision of God. God said to Abraham ‘as far as your eyes can see I will give it to you’. Paul prayed that people would see things with biblical understanding. Stop the destructive observation of negative news, events, physical symptoms and bad legal, academic or medical reports. Change your observations and your thoughts will lead to different outcomes.
Eph. 1:18 ‘the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints’
Prayer:
i. Ask God for the grace to press into and possess His promises for you. Lev. 20:24; Num. 33:53
ii. Come against the crippling and paralyzing spirit of fear and anxiety in believers. 2 Tim. 1:7; Deut. 1:21
Thought for the day:
Stop focusing on lying delusions, no matter how real they are.
